"The staff were attentive and helpful. There was always someone there to answer questions and concerns. The rooms were tidy and clean, though my mother's room was furtest away in respect of distance from lounge so cleaning time was sometimes rather late."

My mother & I enjoyed a tour. We were extremely impressed by the facilities but more importantly the friendly & welcoming atmosphere. Residents all looked happy & staff obviously enjoyed their jobs. Mum is a veteran & it is the only home locally that specialises in veteran support. Thank you Steve & Nikki for the tour. Wimborne is top of our list!

What a breath of fresh air! We visited Wimborne as part of our care setting search for Mum and it was outstanding in every way. From the welcome with tea and cake to the respect of the residents home environment, to the bright, spotless common spaces and smiling faces of the whole team who clearly love their jobs and genuinely care for their residents. A game of carpet boules had just finished (very competitive apparently!) and a quiz was underway. The rooms themselves are all bright and beautifully appointed, some overlooking the newly upgraded courtyards, one quiet and peaceful and one for activities like gardening club and bbqs and some the homes pretty surroundings. The bathroom felt like a home or hotel bathroom, although being vast and having all the necessary safety equipment it was a relaxing space too. The support we have received from one of the staff members, helping us to manage the complexities of finding Mum the right space has been beyond exceptional, she has done everything she can to help and more and we're so hopeful that Mum will end up coming to call Wimborne her home.

"My husband recently spent a few weeks staying at Wimborne his first time living away from home. The atmosphere was warm and caring. The staff were helpful - they respected his need for solitude at times/not always wanting to be drawn into some activities on offer. He enjoyed the food and the morning walks as well as being allowed, at times, to chat with folks in the entrance area! As a family we were well supported and kept informed regularly. A good experience. Thank you."

Visited Wimborne for their Veterans Breakfast meetup. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, great experience overall. Impressed with what I saw of the building interiors, lovely place!

Had a lovely visit to the Veterans breakfast event. We were made to feel very welcome, the home has a lovely feel to it and the staff were really friendly and helpful- will definitely attend this event again.

Residents seemed happy
Activities happening and were lively and the food looked lovely, i was offered cake by the chef.
Some staff at the front door area seemed very clicky and unhelpful and were moaning about colleagues which didn't seem very professional. This was a bit of a let down

Other than this the home seemed welcoming and my friend who lives here didnt have anything bad to say

"My mum, Jo, has been a resident at the Wimborne Care Home for some 18 months and I cannot praise the staff, managers, all the carers and even Gary who does the maintenance for looking after my mum they way they do. Mum has also made many new friends and its lovely to see that interaction and how they all look out for each other. Cakes are exceptional!"

"June was in as a Respite, initially 14 days there, as not ready for leaving, another 14 days. Due to the care, and help from NHS OT and Physio, and private physio, she's recovered mobility well and now coming home. Initially, despite excellent care from the home, was a little unsettled but has adjusted to care home life."

I visited Wimborne with youth group volunteers and it was a lovely experience. The staff were so kind and welcoming, and watching the residents and volunteers enjoy board games together was really heartwarming, it was clear both age groups got a lot out of it. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed, we had a lot of fun, and the food smelled absolutely amazing. A truly lovely care home!

"Mum moved in 4 weeks ago, she has been made very welcome and has settled well, she has a lot of stimulation and is very content, the staff are very attentive and kind, although it was a hard decision moving mum has been a positive experience."

My dad has Alzheimers and I was given an opportunity to attend one of their talks, which i think was called "Communicating with someone with dementure." These talks are advertised and open to the community to book a place.
The talk lasted an hour, and could have gone on much longer because of the interest in the room. Nikki was our host and speaker and delivered a huge amount of ideas at a level I could easily relate to. The talk was perfectly pitched. I left with new ideas to try, and confirmation that some of the techniques I use to talk to dad are going to be beneficial. (It also corrected me on my bad practises, but we won't talk about those) Tea, coffee and biscuits were also on offer. Thank you Nikki.
