Activities at Weystone Manor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and are reflected in the activities they organise.

Celebrating Amazing Jean's 101st birthday!
Weystone Manor Care Home in Woking helped resident Jean celebrate her 101st birthday with a super celebration this week, honouring a truly remarkable and active member of their community. The home was filled with joy and laughter as everyone gathered to mark the milestone. Attended by Jean's children and grandchildren, as well as fellow residents and staff, the party brought together her closest family and friends to toast her incredible life. After everyone heartily sang Happy Birthday, guests enjoyed a delicious cake prepared by the head chef while sharing fond stories from Jean’s life.
Jean, who previously lived in Wonersh, is well-known at the home for her happy, thoughtful and selfless nature. She knits beautiful blankets for premature babies at the nearby Royal Surrey hospital in Guildford, ensuring the area's youngest patients are kept warm. She is also a passionate individual who never misses an activity at the home and loves the outings in the minibus to nearby places such as the Woking Library, Newlands Corner, the garden centres and Horsell Common. In particular, Jean loves gardening, which she regularly enjoys as part of a group or on a one-to-one basis with a carer.
General Manager Abdul Rifai said: “We have had a wonderful time celebrating Jean’s special day. She is a true inspiration to everyone here, always eager to get stuck into group activities or enjoy dedicated one-to-one gardening sessions tailored completely to her passions.”

Paws And Prejudice: Rolling Out The Red Carpet For Mr Darcy!
Staff and residents at Weystone Manor Care Home threw a spectacular canine celebration last week, rolling out the red carpet to host a lavish 7th birthday party for a very special four-legged VIP. The guest of honour was Mr Darcy, a beloved dog belonging to the daughter of Viv, a resident at Weystone Manor. As a frequent and adored visitor to the home, the residents decided his milestone birthday deserved a grand celebration to thank him for the joy he brings to the community. To make the day truly special, Weystone Manor's Activities Coordinator, Megan, teamed up with some of the residents to decorate the home's bistro for the occasion. General Manager Abdul Rifai joined in the festive fun as the birthday boy was presented with a selection of tasty meat treats, followed by a lively, enthusiastic group sing-along of "Happy Birthday" by the residents, Viv’s daughter Debbie and staff. "Mr Darcy brings immense joy to everyone here during his visits with our resident's daughter," said Abdul Rifai, General Manager at Weystone Manor. "Animal companionship provides incredible comfort and mental stimulation for our residents. Helping his family celebrate his 7th birthday with Megan's wonderful activities was the perfect way to show him how much he means to our entire Weystone Manor family." The event highlights Weystone Manor's dedication to creating vibrant, unique, and family-inclusive experiences that keep residents actively involved in creating joyful community memories.
