Activities at Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Celebrating life at Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home
Rock n roll party
Residents, staff and relatives have been turning up the volume and travelling through the greatest eras of rock celebrating National Rock & Roll Day with an afternoon full of music, fun, and laughter. Our venue was transformed with vibrant rock & roll decorations, creating the perfect atmosphere for the occasion.
We were delighted to welcome external entertainer, Nick, who had everyone singing along, clapping, dancing, and enjoying classic rock & roll hits. Staff embraced the theme by dressing up in fantastic rock-inspired costumes, adding to the excitement and making the day even more memorable.
Baileys and biscuit tasting
We have been celebrating National Biscuit Day in the sweetest way possible, with a delightful Baileys & Biscuits Afternoon for our wonderful residents! From classic favourites to chocolate treats, everyone enjoyed sampling a selection of delicious biscuits paired with a little splash of Baileys, plenty of laughter, and great company.
It was a celebration we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
Spring-themed afternoon tea
We have celebrated two truly special occasions, marking National Tea Day alongside what would have been Her Majesty The Queen’s 100th birthday.
Our residents enjoyed a beautiful spring-themed afternoon tea, complete with delicate floral decorations that brought the season indoors. Tables were decorated with fresh blooms, pastel colours, and charming touches that created an elegant atmosphere.
Everyone was treated to a delightful selection of teas, accompanied by delicious cakes and sweet treats. Laughter and conversation filled the room as everyone came together to share memories, stories, and the simple joy of good company.

Home celebrate Easter in style
Staff and residents celebrated Easter with a whole host of different activities including an Easter coffee morning, spring garden strolls, reminiscing and much more.
Residents enjoyed an eggs-tensive range of Easter activities, from reminiscing about past Easter memories to enjoying a visit from the Easter bunny. Residents also tucked in to a delicious Easter meal of roast lamb with all the trimmings, followed by a variety of chocolate themed puddings, prepared by the home’s head chef Andrew.
St Patrick's Day
St Patrick's Day is a special day of fun, celebration and luck! Every year, on March 17th, people across the world come together to honour the patron Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.
Staff and residents have been celebrating all things Irish today with green accessories, Irish dancing, Guinness aplenty, baileys, Irish Coffee, armchair travel and a party with entertainment from the wonderful Steve Carmel.

It was wonderful to see everyone reminiscing about holidays by the sea, sharing stories, and soaking up the sunshine together. It’s amazing how something as simple as an ice cream and a seaside atmosphere can spark conversations, bring back cherished memories, and create new ones together.
Carer's Yoga Session
To celebrate Carers Week, we hosted a relaxing yoga session led by an external yoga instructor, Ellie. The session gave our wonderful staff an opportunity to unwind, focus on their wellbeing, and enjoy gentle exercises and mindfulness activities in a supportive environment. Thank you to everyone who joined us and a big thankyou to Ellie for hosting the session.
Paint and sip event
What a wonderful afternoon we shared celebrating World Art Day with our Spring Paint & Sip event!

A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the afternoon so special. We’re already looking forward to our next creative gathering!
Mother's Day
Mother’s Day is a day to show love, gratitude and appreciation to all the wonderful mums and caregivers everywhere. Residents and staff were spoilt with flowers and chocolates, lots of visitors and some enjoyed a scrumptious morning tea prepared by our kitchen team. Residents reminisced about their roles as mothers and what their favourite part about being a mum is.
We reminisced about what kind of mums they were and their memories of their children growing up.
Valentine's Day
Maple Leaf had a full day of celebrations for Valentine's Day! Throughout the day, residents throughout the home sang their hearts out to classic love songs. During the afternoon, loved ones were invited into the home for an afternoon tea prepared by our Chef, Conner.

It was a wonderful celebration of friendships and reminiscing.
A Royal Picnic
Residents and staff enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating National Picnic Week while also marking His Majesty The King’s Birthday a little early. The garden was filled with laughter, conversation, and music as residents sang along to familiar tunes and enjoyed spending time in the fresh air.
National Gardening Day
We have celebrated National Gardening Day with a wonderful trip out into the garden alongside our fabulous gardener Wendy. Residents enjoyed getting hands-on by helping to build new vegetable boxes, ready for planting in the coming weeks.

The 16th March marked the start of Nutrition and Hydration week. We had a top-notch banana visit by residents and staff with a selection of nutritious healthy foods and drinks for all to enjoy.
