Amazing care home! I truly wouldn’t want my family member anywhere else.

The staff are always incredibly friendly and consistently go out of their way to help. I’m really happy with the level of care provided. The team always seem busy, but more importantly, they genuinely look like they enjoy what they do, which says a lot about the environment.

Thank you so much for everything you do. I’ve seen some negative reviews, but from my experience, they don’t reflect the current atmosphere or standard of care at all.

"My Mum has been living at Hilderstone Hall for over two years, during the times I have visted her, I have noticed how patient and caring all the staff are, the building is very clean, no dirt, dust or mould anywhere. The food is excellent quality. Mum has severe dementia and is deaf, so verbal communication is difficult, I can tell by her body language and general demeanour that she is content in her surroundings, settled and happy. The only thing stopping me giving 5* for everything is the lack of an activities co- ordinator, but one has been appointed."

Really appreciate how much the home and all the staff care for my sister. I'm always informed of changes that need to happen and love how well they all know her

"My sister has now been at the home for two and a half years. She is always cared for and looked after by all staff. It's nice to know that they all know her. Her changing needs are catered for and I'm always informed when decisions have to be made. Looking forward to meeting the new activities coordinator."

"Dad has been here for 2 weeks and during that time has been well cared for. On the second day dad told me he was very impressed with how responsive the night staff were. I have never felt a problem to any of the staff. For example, we wheeled Dad around the garden, and a staff member cleaned the wheels for us when we came back in. There is a lot of flexibility; we have shared a meal with Dad, which was great. He has been referred to OT, and we met the ANP."

We looked at a few homes in the area for my mother-in-law, initially for respite but with a view to a permanent place. Hilderstone Hall stood out for its atmosphere, friendliness and staff and, since moving Betty there, it has clearly demonstrated it is head and shoulders above any local alternative. The bedrooms and lounges and dining rooms echo those of a country house hotel. The food, management and staff are all excellent and combine to make Betty's stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable.

"My mother has been in the home for 4 weeks respite and she has been very happy. The home is run like a 5star hotel, the rooms are beautiful, everywhere is spotlessly clean, the choice, variety and quality of the food is excellent. Lastly but most importantly the staff are fabulous, they are all so professional but so kind and helpful. There is so much available for the residents to join in with if they wish. A big bonus for mum was that she could have a bath for the first time in a long time which was such a treat for her( she has daily showers)! I'm not sure is mum wants to come out - we will see!"

"After a prolonged stay in hospital with little or no mental or physical interaction, my father was accepted as a permanent resident to Hilderstone Hall. Within weeks he became "Dad" again, laughing and integrating thanks to the care, compassion and respect he received from all of the staff. I cannot commend the staff highly enough, always attending to his needs infact he thought he was living in a "Hotel". Sadly Dad passed away peacefully in Hilderstone Hall a few weeks ago. When I attended to see him for the last time, the care assistant knocked on the door to his room, called his name and announced that I was there. "RESPECT" even though he had passed away earlier. I can 100% recommend Hilderstone Hall to anyones loved one in the future."

"Hilderstone Hall is my mum's home now. It was a difficult decision for our family to make; to place my mum into the care of others but we were struggling to meet her needs and she needed more care than we were able to provide. We chose Hilderstone Hall because we liked the Manager and the atmosphere of the home immediately just felt right. We made the right decision. The staff have become like family. They are so very kind, conscientious and hardworking, and importantly have been the same people over the past 15 months. There is a lot of laughter and good cheer and the decor is that of a fancy hotel! My mum is very happy and settled and has made friends. We can drop in anytime of day or night and are always welcome."

"Fantastic caring staff my Dad is very settled and happy. They accommodate his specific requests and facilitate regular communication for all of family The building and gardens provide a beautiful serene environment to sit and watch the birds and changing of the seasons and is equally as beautiful indoors the lounges and dining rooms are spacious and comfortable."

"Overall I'm impressed with Barchester HQ and Hilderstone Hall. Polite and professional staff, nice home in pleasant grounds. Proactive engagement from initial enquiry through to moving in and now with ongoing care. Lots of interactive activities and the staff get to know those in their care is very apparent. There'll always be some issues, it goes with the territory, but I've found the staff to be forward leaning and helpful and my Aunt appears settled and happy and cared for, which is something we are obviously pleased with. "Called to see my sister today who has dementia, straight away I was greeted with a smile and when I said who I was here to see she said 'ohh birthday girl today', what a lovely touch! Then another lady said 'oh yes she's up, dressed and ready for her birthday do you know where to go?' There was a balloon and a banner on her bedroom door and they said the chef was baking her a birthday cake. I then met a carer, what a lovely caring person, and another, both so pleasant and really interacted with my sister. She also speaks highly of another one of the other carers. I really can't praise Barchester Hilderstone Hall and the wonderful staff enough. It's not nice having to put a family member in a home but I feel so happy knowing that she's cared for and so well looked after. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the amazing work you do!"

"Undoubtedly, a well above average experience, especially in view that is based on a comparison with a previous care home (residential) for which I paid the same amount. All staff, management, nurses, carers etc. pass the test with flying colours with the exception of one individual which I am not allowed to mention but should not be employed in this superb establishment but should be sacked."

"Mum has lived at Hilderstone Hall Nursing Home for the past 18 months as a resident and the last few weeks in Memory Lane. The care from all staff has been outstanding. The warmth, kindness and quality of care is excellent and I always felt I could pop in anytime to see Mum. Mum participated in events, meals out and celebrations at the home and always had a smile. Mum kept thanking me for choosing Hilderstone Hall."

"My father and I visited 2 of the residents, one of whom was an old University friend of my father. We received a warm welcome from all of the staff at the home and they kindly arranged for us to join the resident for lunch. The lunch was very good and it was nice to be able to have more time to chat."

"I have been a resident in Barchester Hilderstone Hall Care Home for six months. During that time, I have received excellent care and treatment for all my medical and physical conditions, together with kindness, respect and good humour. The staff have obviously received good training and respond well to all of my requests for assistance. The visiting doctor, nurses and physiotherapist have also provided me with good treatment and care. My daughter is also a resident here as she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's years ago. She has received similar good care and treatment. The accommodation is very comfortable, spacious and well cared for by the staff. The food is well prepared with suitable choices. The monthly residents' meeting provides an opportunity for discussion of suggestions and they received responses and some appropriate action. With such a wide range of physical and mental disabilities, I appreciate the organising of appropriate activities presents many difficulties. However, the programme of individual and small group activities for games, artwork with paints and felt pens and cookery preparation etc. has improved. The musical programme with outside performers has been well appreciated."

"Living alone and unable to care for myself after having hip revision surgery, I chose to come here for respite care until I felt safe enough to go home. My stay has been a pleasure - due to the caring nature of every member of staff who has treated me with dignity, understanding and respect. The environment is lovely and good for walking rehabilitation."
