Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming back the incredibly talented JB Steel Pan to our home! Our residents gathered outside in our beautifully kept courtyard gardens, which were decorated in a burst of wonderful, bright colours for the occasion.

Our amazing activities team turned up the fun by providing musical instruments, Hawaiian-style garlands, and grass skirts. 
Everyone had a blast dancing around the garden and keeping our residents thoroughly entertained!

The sun was shining, the steel pan music was beautiful, and the energy was filled with smiles and laughter.

Thank you, JB Steel Pan, for bringing the sounds of the Caribbean straight to our courtyard! 

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate two wonderful members of our team, RGN Anila and Hostess Christine, as they prepare to welcome their new little ones!

Our staff came together this week for a beautiful joint baby shower filled with love and plenty of well-wishes. Both of these amazing women bring so much joy and dedication to our residents every day, and it was an honour to shower them with love as they step into this exciting next chapter of motherhood.

General Manager Samantia De Florimonte-Rose said "Anila and Christine are the absolute heart of our team. Their warmth, care, and dedication impact everyone who walks through our doors. Watching our staff come together to celebrate them reminds me of how lucky we are to have such a supportive, tight-knit work family. Step right outside your door, and you are ready to garden! It has been absolutely lovely watching Cherry and her daughter tending to their patch lately. Thanks to their dedicated maintenance, the strawberries and tomatoes are growing beautifully!

We love supporting our residents in maintaining their independence, passion, and green fingers.

We were absolutely thrilled to celebrate the completion of our extensive home refurbishment and marked this vibrant new chapter with a grand relaunch afternoon, bringing together our wonderful residents, staff, local dignitaries, and community leaders.

Tewkesbury Borough Mayor, Councillor George Porter, officially declared our newly refurbished home open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Tewkesbury Town Mayor, Councillor Emma Ash, shared a heart-warming speech praising our transformation and thanking our amazing team for their dedication and compassion

We were also delighted to have talented Ruth Cartledge filled the home with beautiful music on her stunning Japanese harp, Princess Sakura.

Our Head Chef, John Fesel, kept everyone cool in the warm weather with refreshing drinks, bespoke canapés, and a beautiful celebratory WOW cake.

Guests also enjoyed guided tours of our upgraded communal spaces, refurbished resident rooms, and also had time to stroll through our beautiful gardens.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported us, including representatives from Tayntons Solicitors, Willans Solicitors, GA Medical Transport Link, Priors Park Community, MOD Ashchurch and management team from Tewkesbury Fields Care Home.

We had a fantastic afternoon welcoming the Tewkesbury Museum back to our home!

Our residents loved hearing the fascinating stories behind the local historical objects brought along for the talk. 
Everyone especially enjoyed the hands-on experience of holding the unique artifacts and reading about their rich history.

Thank you so much to the museum team for such a wonderful, educational, and engaging afternoon! 

Amazing puppeteer Tony and his joyful characters came to life today at Ashchurch View!

Our residents had a wonderful time meeting Tony and his incredible puppet friends. Tony brought the characters to life through lively conversation and classic songs even belting out some Elton John favourites!

The room was filled with awe, with residents shared “What a fantastic performance! Tony is so dedicated and truly brings them to life."

Thank you, Tony, for bringing so much joy and laughter into our home. We can’t thank you enough and already look forward to your next visit!

Today, we hosted our "Increasing Hydration" event specifically tailored for those living with dementia, and it was a great success!

Our incredible Head Chef, John Fesel, created a spectacular trolley of tasty treats to help everyone beat the summer heat. Residents sampled Blue & Pink lemonade Tangerine jellies & Lemonade ice lolly shots Fresh melon variety & fruit skewers Refreshing smoothies  Icesupp yoghurts (frozen treats with a beautiful backstory of a family helping their own loved one stay hydrated!) Nutrient-rich Haskapa berry powder drinks & Omega-3 vanilla fudge pouches!

Our Memory Lane community lounge was buzzing with residents enjoying the sampling session together. For those unable to make it to the lounge, our Customer Relationship Manager, Louise Ramage, brought the trolley straight to their bedsides so no one missed out on these vital, delicious fluids.

We didn't forget our hard-working team and wonderful guests either! Visitors and staff all enjoyed a refreshing drink and snack to stay cool and hydrated.

Today, we want to give a massive, heartfelt shout-out to our incredible Gardener, Brendan! For over nine years, Brendan has been an invaluable part of the Ashchurch View family, dedicating his time, heart, and soul to making our gardens absolutely beautiful.

With an award-winning passion Brendan’s love for plants goes back to his college days, where he completed three years of intensive horticulture studies. During that time, he was part of a select team that participated in the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show and they won Silver! Brendan is incredibly proud of this achievement, and that same award-winning dedication shines through at our home every single day.

Brendan designs our gardens to be a feast for the senses. From the vibrant colours to the rich textures and beautiful scents of English lavender and scented roses, there is always something to experience. 
Right now, during this heatwave, his hard work is a lifesaver our garden's natural shade brings the temperature down by a good few degrees, offering a cool, refreshing retreat for everyone.

Many of our residents have rooms with doors leading straight out into the gardens, complete with their own collections of plants and pots. With a little helping hand from Brendan, residents maintain their own patches, keeping their lifelong passions and independence alive right here at the home.

Thank you, Brendan, for your unwavering dedication and for making Ashchurch View bloom. We are super proud to have you on our team! 

This Carers Week, we paused to celebrate the incredible, hard-working team that makes Ashchurch View such a special place to live and work. This is a snapshot of just a few of our dedicated carers.

Our General Manager, Samantia De Florimonte-Rose, gave a heartfelt thank you to all of our carers for "coming on the journey" with us. She praised their daily dedication, their wonderful care, and the massive contribution they make to our Ashchurch family every single day.

Sam also shared a special thank you to the team for their amazing patience during our ongoing home transformation. We are nearly there now, and our team will soon have a truly beautiful environment to work in.

The countdown is officially on for our grand opening day on 2nd July, where we will finally cut the ribbon and celebrate this exciting new chapter together!

Today, our lovely residents made the absolute most of the gorgeous weather by spending the afternoon out in our beautiful gardens.

We officially christened our brand new garden furniture in the best way possible with a spectacular afternoon tea! 
Everything was served in beautiful china cups and teapots, making the afternoon feel extra special.

A massive thank you to our incredibly talented hospitality team for preparing an array of beautiful, tasty treats that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

There is truly nothing better than good food, great company, and fresh air in our own little paradise!

We are thrilled to announce that our lovely Nurse Sita has been nominated for Employee of the month due to her care compassion and commitment she shows every day for the residents and staff at Ashchurch View.

Sita was presented with the Employee of the month certificate and a gift by the homes administrator Jenny to celebrate. Sita will also receive a voucher from Barchester as a thank you for her outstanding contribution towards the home.

We had a fantastic time celebrating World Chocolate Day yesterday! Our residents and staff were treated to a special chocolate trolley filled with treats.

From sticky Chocolate Eclairs to classic Freddos, Curly Wurlys, KitKats, and Twirls, there was something for everyone. We even took the trolley out into the garden so everyone could enjoy a sweet treat in the fresh air.

Big smiles and full hearts all round!

Our lounge was packed to the rafters this week for a very special visit from Guide Dogs Ledbury & Malvern! Residents turned out in force to meet the incredible guide dog mum and her adorable puppy, Oakley who proudly wore a jacket saying, "I'm a life changer."

He certainly changed our day! The room was filled with smiles, cuddles, and so much joy. One of our residents even declared it "the best talk we have ever had!"

A massive thank you to the wonderful volunteers Rod Arthur, Lorraine Lumsden, and Debbie Pitts for giving up their time to visit us. You brought so much happiness to our home!
